Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has shared a glimpse of his engagement with residents of Masaba in Kuria West, Migori County, as he spent time with a local family in the area.
The politician’s appearance in Kuria West comes at a time when the region has continued to attract attention from national leaders, particularly amid ongoing government activities and development discussions across Migori County. Kuria West is one of the constituencies in Migori County, with Kehancha serving as its administrative centre.
Sudi’s simple description of the moment as “chilling with a family” presents a different side of political engagement, where leaders interact with ordinary residents outside formal meetings, rallies and public functions.
The MP has increasingly been involved in activities beyond his Kapseret constituency, including engagements with leaders and communities in different parts of the country. Earlier this month, he accompanied Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho to Tanzania to deliver President William Ruto’s condolence message to President Samia Suluhu Hassan following the death of her husband, Mzee Hafidh Ameir Hassan.
His presence in Migori also comes against the backdrop of President William Ruto’s activities in the county. Recent reports indicated that the President was expected to visit Kuria West to inspect the Masaba Sub-Station as part of his engagements in the region. The electricity infrastructure is intended to strengthen power distribution and support households, businesses and other economic activities.
For residents, informal interactions with national political figures can provide opportunities to share experiences and discuss matters affecting their communities. Such encounters can also highlight the importance of leaders maintaining contact with citizens away from official settings.
Sudi’s post has therefore drawn attention to a quieter moment in Masaba, where the legislator chose to spend time with a local family. The encounter offers another example of how political leaders connect with communities across the country.
