Kenyan singer Otile Brown has opened up about the challenges he has faced over the past year, revealing that they made him consider quitting music.
The singer said he has been going through a difficult period in his personal life, which also contributed to his silence in the music scene.
Otile explained that there was a time he seriously thought about leaving the industry altogether. “It has been a very difficult period. I have been dealing with many things in life and, honestly, there was a time I thought of quitting music completely,” Otile said.
Although he did not give details about the challenges he has faced, the singer pointed to money as one of the major reasons he considered quitting. Otile said his love for music is what has kept him going despite the financial difficulties.
He noted that if money was his main reason for making music, he would have left the industry long ago because, in his view, music in Kenya does not pay enough.
For now, Otile says his passion for creating music remains the main reason he continues with his career.
