Political sparks flew in Narok County after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accused Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen of attempting to block him from visiting the home of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Johana Ng’eno.

Speaking during an emotional visit to the late legislator’s home in Mogondo, Gachagua claimed there were deliberate efforts by state figures to keep him away from the region ahead of his planned political rally.

Despite the alleged roadblocks, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader managed to navigate his way to the homestead to pay his respects to Ng’eno’s grieving mother, Mary Temasi.

According to coverage by People Daily, the visit took a poignant turn when Temasi made an emotional plea to Gachagua, revealing that high-ranking officials had abandoned her family following her son’s tragic demise in a plane crash.

Temasi shared that several pledges made during her son’s burial remained unfulfilled, leaving her struggling to cover basic household needs and medical expenses.

She specifically requested assistance to construct a proper structure at her son’s grave, noting that previous appeals to other state leaders had been ignored.

Gachagua immediately committed to fulfilling her request, asking the family to prepare architectural designs so construction could begin without delay while also offering to settle medical bills for Ng’eno’s brother.

However, the visit quickly shifted back to high-stakes political confrontation as Gachagua turned his attention directly toward Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

As reported by Citizen Digital, Gachagua raised sharp questions regarding the handling of the crash investigation, demanding transparency over fuel inspection procedures and suspect releases surrounding the aviation incident.

Gachagua insisted that the bereaved mother deserved complete closure and criticized state leaders for allegedly prioritizing political maneuvers over genuine support for mourning families.

The fiery statements have reignited intense public debate across the country regarding state promises and political rivalries in the Rift Valley region.
