A new poll by Mizani Africa has placed an Edwin Sifuna and Ndindi Nyoro presidential ticket ahead of a Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua combination in a hypothetical 2027 General Election contest.

The poll, shared on August 21, asked X users which of the two proposed presidential and running-mate combinations would present the strongest challenge to President William Ruto.

With 707 votes cast and about 21 hours remaining, Sifuna and Nyoro had attracted 75 per cent of the votes, while Kalonzo and Gachagua had 25 per cent.

However, the comments beneath the poll showed that some voters were more interested in Sifuna than the proposed pairing.

One user, Juma B. Wango, wrote, “Anywhere where there is sifuna ndio itashinda,” while another simply described the trend as the “Sifuna effect.”

Other users called for Mizani Africa to test Sifuna with different political figures.

Sitawa Wahome suggested, “Try Sifuna : Methu… I want to see something,” while another user proposed, “Sifuna & Kalonzo.”

The inclusion of Nyoro also drew criticism from some users.

Mulinga Stephen accused the pollster of “Trying to force Ndindi on us !! Shenzi,” while Edgar Nyakundi wrote, “Akuna kitu kama sifuna ndindi. Ni sifuna na mtu mwingine apart from ndindi.”

Some users went further and questioned the credibility of the pollster.

Verissimus wrote, “The most unreliable pollster in kenya,” before questioning the decision to include Nyoro in the proposed ticket.

Another user, marcusaurellius253, suggested a different contest altogether: “Kalonzo-Sifuna vs Ruto-Kindiki.”
