EACC

David Oginde, the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), has warned that Kenyans who obtained jobs using fake academic or professional certificates risk losing their employment.

In a statement issued on August 21, 2026, Bishop Oginde said anyone found to have secured a job through forged qualifications would be dismissed immediately.

He added that those affected would also be required to repay all salaries, allowances, and other benefits received while serving in those positions.

Oginde noted that the EACC is actively pursuing the recovery of public funds from individuals who were removed from office after investigations established that they had used fraudulent documents to gain employment.

He further disclosed that a number of people have already been dismissed following the discovery of forged certificates.

The commission also called on Kenyans to embrace honesty and integrity by submitting only authentic and verifiable documents during job applications, saying this is essential in the fight against fraud and unethical practices in both the public and private sectors.
