Citizen TV presenter Mashirima Kapombe had an unexpected and frightening encounter after arriving home from the studio and finding a large snake at her residence.
The incident happened on Wednesday, August 12, shortly after the journalist had finished her work at Citizen TV.
Kapombe shared a series of Instagram Stories documenting the dramatic encounter, which quickly turned from a normal evening into an unusual battle with the reptile.
In one of the clips, Kapombe was seen standing near the snake while holding a stick. Still dressed in the outfit she had worn on television, the presenter appeared shocked by the size of the reptile.
She expressed her disbelief at finding such a large snake at her home, describing it as huge while warning that she would not tolerate similar trespassers in the future.
Rather than simply leaving the snake at the scene, Kapombe killed it and later set its remains on fire.
Her son, Kenga, appeared to find the entire situation amusing. He recorded his mother standing over the remains and provided a humorous narration, describing her as a victorious “queen” after defeating the snake.
The situation became even more entertaining when a kitten wandered into the scene. Kenga jokingly introduced the animal as his mother’s “trusty lioness,” adding a lighter moment to what had initially been a frightening encounter.
Kapombe later reflected on the experience, saying her son’s sense of humour helped make the unusual situation easier to handle.
The journalist concluded her series of posts with a Bible verse from Psalm 91, which speaks about protection from danger and triumph over threats.
The encounter attracted attention from her followers, with the combination of the unexpected snake, her reaction and her son’s humorous commentary making the incident memorable.
While the circumstances surrounding how the snake ended up at the residence were not disclosed, Kapombe appeared relieved after the reptile was dealt with.
Her posts offered followers a rare glimpse into the lighter and more unpredictable moments of her life away from television.
