A fierce political storm has erupted in Meru County following an explosive, scorched-earth social media tirade by former Governor Kawira Mwangaza, who has directly pointed the finger at President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki for orchestrating her dramatic 2024 impeachment and effectively killing her political career.
In a strongly worded public statement issued on Friday, August 7, 2026, the ousted county boss tore into the ruling administration as new data revealed Meru lagging abysmally at position 38 out of all 47 counties in the latest Senate opinion polls.
Unloading her bitter frustrations online, Mwangaza accused the top state leadership of systemic sabotage, claiming that her removal paved the way for entrenched cartels to plunder public resources while local development grinds to a complete halt.
“Kindiki, nilikukosea wapi, mimi Mama? Mnanitesa bure! Ruto, why kill my political career? Ona sasa, Meru County, your project gavana anavuta mkia. No development in Meru. Cartels looting Meru every day,” Mwangaza wrote bitterly.
The fiery outburst comes at a highly volatile time as Meru’s political landscape undergoes violent realignments.
While current Governor Isaac Mutuma eyes a second term with the full backing and endorsement of President Ruto’s administration, Mwangaza’s unrelenting attacks signal an impending, no-holds-barred electoral bloodbath as the county marches toward 2027!
