Fresh details have emerged how a missing Grade 9 pupil reportedly returned home after being spotted with a mysterious man in a leaked video circulating online in Kawangware.
Ann Wambui, a Grade 9 learner who went missing about two weeks ago after failing to return home, was reportedly found back at her house following allegations that her “boyfriend” exposed her in the leaked video.
The resurfacing of the teenager has brought relief to her family, but questions remain regarding what led to her disappearance and the circumstances surrounding the video.
According to information shared by family members, Ann was reported missing after she could not be traced either at home or at school.
Her family said she disappeared from Kawangware and stayed away without giving any indication of her whereabouts, leaving parents anxious as days turned into weeks.
The mother, in her account, said Ann is a pupil at Kawangware Primary School. She explained that Ann left home and was later allegedly seen in photographs and videos shared on social media. In the posts, the unidentified man was reportedly posing as “Tony Ton,” according to what the family and online users claimed.
The family maintained that it does not currently have clarity on where Ann had been during the entire period.
They said they do not know the exact circumstances that kept her away and added that they feared for her safety throughout the ordeal.
While Ann’s return has eased the immediate worry, her mother emphasized that the situation raised serious concerns that still need answers.
In an effort to seek help, the mother reported the disappearance at Muthangari Police Station.
She stated that officers advised her to gather information on Ann’s possible location before taking further action.
