An American tourist’s visit to Kenya turned into a memorable experience after she unexpectedly met Kenyan internet sensation Bradley Marongo, popularly known by many online as the “Gen Z Goliath.”
The visitor, identified as Sharma, shared her excitement in a TikTok video after finally meeting the towering social media personality, whom she said she had admired for a long time through his online content.
According to Sharma, she has been following Marongo’s videos on YouTube from the United States and never imagined that her first trip to Africa would include a face-to-face meeting with one of her favourite internet personalities.
“I watch this guy all the time on YouTube. I am one of his biggest fans, and now I am here in Africa with Bradley. Check him out,” she said while standing beside the content creator.
Sharma explained that she spotted Marongo from a distance and immediately recognised him. She described the encounter as one of the highlights of her visit to Kenya, saying she was overwhelmed with excitement after finally meeting someone she had only seen online.
She added that it was her first day on the African continent and encouraged other people who follow Marongo’s content to consider visiting Kenya and experiencing the country’s vibrant culture firsthand.
“Today is my first day here, and I noticed Bradley from a distance. If you know him, you should come to Africa and meet him like I did,” she said.
The American visitor thanked Marongo for taking time to meet and interact with her, describing him as kind, friendly and welcoming.
“Thank you so much, Bradley. You are awesome. I can’t believe I finally met you. I am so excited,” she added.
During their conversation, Sharma revealed that she lives in Minnesota, where she works with children, encouraging them to believe in themselves and achieve their full potential. She said watching Marongo pursue his dreams has been inspiring and motivating.
She also disclosed that she hopes to build her own career as a YouTuber in the future and is working towards growing her presence on the platform.
“I want to become a YouTuber. That is what I am working towards,” she said.
Before the two parted ways, Sharma wished Marongo success and encouraged him to continue taking care of himself as he builds his brand.
