Residents of Malkagala have been thrown into mourning after the disturbing incident, following the discovery of the body of a beloved young girl who had gone missing for weeks.

The community is now grappling with grief and shock, as families struggle to come to terms with what authorities say was a brutal killing.

According to reports, the girl’s family reported her missing about a week ago. Immediately after she disappeared, relatives launched a frantic search, hoping to locate her alive and safe. Neighbours joined in the search efforts, raising alarm and calling for information that could help trace her whereabouts.

However, the family’s hopes were shattered when they later received devastating news.

The girl’s body was found dumped in a pit latrine, with her body reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

The horrifying discovery left her relatives in unbearable pain, with many saying the incident has left them questioning how such an act could happen in their area.

The family also revealed that the young girl had achieved a B plain grade and was preparing to join university in September, 2026.

They said she had been planning her future and working toward her career course, believing her education would open doors for a better life. Instead, her dreams were cut short abruptly, leaving behind sadness and unanswered questions.

Isiolo women representative has since released an emotional message of condolences to the bereaved family.

In her statement, she urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to move with speed and seriousness.

She called for swift investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder, and to ensure that the suspects involved are identified, arrested, and taken to court without delay.
