Police in Kajiado County arrested 30 women in a dawn raid in Ongata Rongai over allegations of producing and distributing obscene material for commercial purposes.
The operation was carried out at about 4:05 a.m. on Friday in the Nkoroi area following a tip-off from members of the public.
According to police, officers raided a residential house where they found 30 women, aged between 19 and 27, allegedly producing explicit online content for commercial gain.
During a search of the premises, officers recovered seven laptops fitted with cameras, 42 sex toys, four Wi-Fi routers, 17 boxed vibrators and other equipment believed to have been used in the production of the content.
The suspects were taken to Ongata Rongai Police Station, where they remain in custody pending their arraignment in court.
Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the operation, including the intended distribution channels and any individuals linked to the alleged enterprise.
Such productions have been on the rise in various places amid renewed police operations to stop the trend.
Most of the content is shared online to attract general views.
Under Kenyan law, all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
