Musician Bahati has broken his silence after a viral video surfaced online making serious allegations against him, dismissing the claims as false, defamatory and damaging to his reputation.In statement shared on Friday, 17, the singer said he was shocked after watching the video, accusing its creator of fabricating allegations in pursuit of social media attention and online engagement.
Bahati expressed disbelief that an adult would make such claims without evidence, arguing that the accusations had crossed the line and unfairly portrayed him as a criminal.
According to Bahati, the video accused him of being involved in murder, an allegation he strongly denied.
He questioned the basis of claims, asking where the alleged victims were if such accusations were true.
“You either take us where the bodies are buried or tell us who sent you to attack me,” Bahati stated, adding that he would not ignore the matter.
The artist also addressed New Life Church and its leadership, saying he respects places of worship and considers the pulpit sacred.However, he urged the church and its television station to verify information before allowing it to be broadcast.
Bahati described the allegations as clear defamation and warned that those responsible would face legal consequences.
He said the matter should be resolved in court and insisted that his reputation deserved protection.
Although he described himself as a forgiving person, the musician maintained that spreading false information at the expense of someone’s name and brand should not be tolerated.
He announced that he would issue an official statement on the matter at 4 p.m.
