Kenyan actress Trisha Khalid has opened up about a difficult chapter from her younger years, revealing why she decided to return a luxury Mercedes-Benz that had been bought for her by a married man she was dating.

The actress shared the experience during a TikTok Live session on Thursday, July 16, 2026, where she reflected on choices she made when she was still very young.

Trisha said she was only 18 years old when she got into the relationship and admitted that accepting the expensive gift was one of the decisions she now regrets.

She explained that she acquired her first car in 2021, but later realised that the circumstances surrounding it did not align with the values she wanted to uphold.

“I bought my first car at age 18 in 2021. The married guy I was dating… It’s something I am not proud of. We all grow through things, and we all make mistakes,” Trisha said.

The actress said she was young, inexperienced and focused on achieving a better lifestyle at the time. However, she later discovered that material possessions did not bring the fulfilment she expected.

According to Trisha, the vehicle was a metallic grey Mercedes-Benz. After the relationship ended, she chose to stop using it and personally arranged for it to be returned.

She explained that she preferred making the decision herself rather than waiting for a situation where the car could become a source of conflict or pressure.

“One thing about me is that I don’t like shame. When I knew this was not working, I asked for the car to be picked because I did not want it to reach a point where it would be used against me,” she said.

Trisha added that returning the vehicle gave her peace of mind and later became a moment she felt proud about because she prioritised her dignity over the luxury item.

The actress also advised women receiving expensive gifts from partners to ensure that ownership documents are properly handled and that they understand the legal implications involved.

Her revelation has sparked conversations among fans about relationships, financial independence and the importance of making personal decisions that protect one’s future.

Trisha Khalid, who is known for her role in Kenyan entertainment, has previously shared personal experiences about friendships, relationships and lessons she has learnt throughout her journey in the public eye.

Her latest revelation highlights her belief that personal growth often comes from acknowledging past mistakes and making better choices moving forward.
