A domestic dispute in Nairobi’s Embakasi area ended in tragedy after a 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death during a confrontation with his girlfriend inside a residential apartment.
Brian Mwakha was found lying in a pool of blood on the fifth floor of a building after officers responded to reports of a violent incident. His body had a deep stab wound on the left side of the upper chest.
Investigations revealed that Mwakha had visited his girlfriend, identified as 26‑year‑old Gladys, when the dispute broke out.
According to preliminary findings, the couple argued over suspicions of infidelity. The situation escalated after Mwakha allegedly discovered used contraceptives inside the house and confronted Gladys.
Gladys told detectives that the contraceptives had been left behind by a visiting friend and her boyfriend, but Mwakha refused to believe her explanation. In the midst of the quarrel, she allegedly stabbed him, leading to his death.
Crime scene investigators later documented the scene and collected evidence that may help establish exactly what happened during the final moments of the fight.
The body was moved to mortuary where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be arraigned once investigations are completed.
