New details have emerged after a househelp was brutally murdered by her employer, who later disappeared without a trace.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have now revealed what they found inside the house where the Nairobi maid was allegedly killed.Investigators described the apartment in Kasarani as a disturbing scene that suggested a violent struggle had taken place.

Inside the two-room house where 35-year-old Susan Wanjiku Nyambura had stayed for only two days, detectives found clothes scattered across the floor and a lone photograph among the items left behind.

The house appeared abandoned, with indications that its occupant had fled in a hurry.

The discovery has raised fresh questions about Susan’s final hours and the events that led to her death. Detectives are now relying on information from residents in the area as they work to piece together what happened.

Susan’s body was discovered on May 12 at the entrance of her employer’s residence in the Cieko area of Kasarani.

A postmortem examination later confirmed that she died from severe head injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

The tragedy became even more painful for her family after they learned of her death more than a month later.

Her body had remained unclaimed at the Nairobi City County Funeral Home until DCI officers identified her through fingerprint records and contacted her relatives.Family members who viewed the body said they were informed by investigators that Susan had been fatally assaulted.

They insisted they would not proceed with burial arrangements until the suspect was arrested and brought before the courts.

Witnesses told investigators that on the day of the incident, the suspect asked a neighbour to take care of her child before disappearing.

Residents also recalled the moment the body was discovered, saying screams from within the compound alerted them to the tragedy.

Neighbours further claimed that Susan had worked in the house for less than two days before she was killed.

Some residents also alleged that the suspect had previously been linked to violent incidents.

As the search continues, detectives have reportedly traced the suspect’s phone signal to Makueni County.

Authorities believe the suspect may be using disguises to evade arrest as investigations intensify.

Susan’s grieving family remains determined to seek justice, maintaining that they will only lay her to rest once the person responsible for her death is apprehended and held accountable.
