Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued another warning regarding Kenya’s political direction, urging both the government and opposition to act cautiously to avoid escalating tensions in the country.

Speaking through a statement released by the media office of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church leader, Ayodele cautioned that political missteps from either side could increase instability and create deeper divisions.

According to the cleric, the coming political period may bring intensified competition between President William Ruto’s administration and opposition forces, making restraint and strategic decision-making critical.

He claimed that if the opposition fails to remain organised and effective, the government could strengthen its position significantly and weaken dissenting voices.

“If the opposition isn’t firm enough, Ruto will do everything to mess them up completely. The opposition will come up with new ideas to fight Ruto, and he must get ready,” Ayodele said.

Beyond politics, the cleric also raised security concerns, calling for prayers against what he described as a possible plane disaster and warning Kenya to remain alert to unexpected national shocks.

His remarks did not include specific details or evidence regarding the security warning but framed it as a call for national vigilance and preparedness.

The comments come at a time of continued political debate and heightened public attention on governance and opposition activity in Kenya, with leaders across the political divide facing increasing scrutiny from citizens and stakeholders.

Ayodele’s latest statement is expected to generate discussion among supporters, critics and political observers, particularly given his previous public predictions on political developments across Africa.
