The grass to grace story of Catherine Kama aka Kate Actress continues to encourage and impress many.
Appearing on the My Journey series on Churchill show on Sunday November 29, she told the comedian that she has not had it easy but is grateful for the life lessons.
She told how her parents made her study accounts to pursue a career as an accountant but that didn’t work out oo well for her. ‘My mum thought I was good, hiyo CPA sijui ilikuwa na nini. Nilianguka’
After failing in her studies, her mum took her to Uganda where she met her baby daddy. Coming from girls schools only, I found myself in a class with boys it was like freedom, in a dorm with boys. I could go out, tunaduna, nikakula baing, nikapokea aki my mum had taken a 400kloan to educate me . I don’t understand how it was a shock to me yet I wasn’t on contraceptives.. I never understood anything about contraceptives,. I went for a morning after after three weeks. At the time my mum was out of the country. I wrote her a letter, and disappeared. She came back and told my friend that I should go back home. She also spoke about how her mum made it tough for her as a teen mum to teach her a lesson.
Then later she met her husband Phil but at the time ‘we never used to like each other’. Kate told Churchill that Phil thought she wasd too much and used to look at her liek she wasn’t serious.
