Shool Bus

Students from Igumori Secondary School in Embu County escaped with minor injuries after their school bus was involved in an accident along the Kiritiri–Kiambeere road.

The incident happened near Karii Market when the bus, which was ferrying students to a regional music festival, skidded on a section of road under construction.

Witnesses said water had been poured on the surface to control dust, leaving it slippery. The driver lost control, and the bus veered off the road before overturning into a nearby valley.

Photos taken at the scene show the yellow school bus lying on its side as a large crowd gathered. Bystanders rushed to help the trapped students, pulling them out through windows and doors.

Local residents, boda boda riders, and motorists joined hands to assist before emergency responders arrived.

The injured students were quickly taken to nearby hospitals, where they are said to be in stable condition.

Authorities have launched investigations to establish the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
