Kevin Mbuvi Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, is one of the highly educated Kenyan musicians with a bachelor’s degree in business information technology.
Growing up as an orphan, Bahati did not have an easy education path. He started his education journey at Mercury Academy Primary School in Nairobi.
For his secondary school studies, Bahati went to Nakeel Boys’ High School, though he later left the school and eventually completed them at St Theresa’s Boys’ High School.
Further reports reveal that he completed KCSE in 2011 and scored a C+ (plus) grade.
While in secondary school, Bahati actively participated in music festivals. He represented St Theresa’s Boys’ High School at the national music festivals, including performing guitar at the national level in Nakuru.
Some of these experiences helped launch his music career right from the very early years.
In 2025, Bahati announced that he had enrolled at university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business information technology (BIT).
He stated that he already holds a diploma in computer science, making the BIT programme his first university degree.
Reports further indicated that he joined the East African University for the degree programme.
Bahati grew up at ABC Children’s Home after losing his parents at a young age, and the children’s home played a key role in supporting his education.
He has publicly stated that financial hardship prevented him from attending university earlier despite wanting to pursue higher education.
His music talent was discovered and nurtured during his high school years through participation in school music festivals.
