Nuhu Zubeir Bakari has become a familiar face to many Kenyans through Citizen TV’s popular Swahili programme, Longa Longa.
Known for his excellent command of Kiswahili and his engaging presentation style, Bakari has played a key role in making the show a favourite among viewers.
Together with his co-host, Munene Nyaga, he continues to educate and entertain audiences across the country.
Bakari’s journey began during his school years at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Secondary School.
While still a student, he developed a strong interest in language, poetry, and journalism. He actively participated in school activities that focused on communication and creative expression.
These experiences helped him build the skills that would later shape his career.
His passion for language led him to pursue higher education at the University of Nairobi.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kiswahili and Communication before advancing his studies further.
Between 2010 and 2012, he undertook a Master of Arts degree in Language Interpretation and Translation.
During this period, he deepened his understanding of language and communication while sharpening his translation skills.
Bakari’s hard work and commitment to excellence earned him a distinction in his master’s studies.
He also participated in activities related to translation and localisation, which helped expand his professional knowledge and experience.
Today, Nuhu Bakari is recognised as a dedicated and highly skilled translator. He is known for maintaining high-quality standards in his work and consistently delivering excellent results.
Through his work on Longa Longa and in the field of translation, Nuhu Bakari continues to promote the beauty and importance of the Kiswahili language, inspiring many young people who aspire to follow a similar path.
