Fresh details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Nakuru businessman Kenneth Toroitich Kiplabat, the Chief Executive Officer of Ceenet Technologies Limited, who had been reported missing before his body found murdered.
According to reports, Kenneth went missing on May 20 after failing to return home, prompting his family and close associates to launch an urgent search effort.
The businessman, who is widely known in Nakuru as a prominent laptop dealer and entrepreneur operating within the electronics sector, had been in communication with several business partners shortly before his disappearance.
As concern grew over his whereabouts, a troubling development surfaced when his newly purchased Mercedes GLE, reportedly valued at approximately Sh15 million, was found abandoned in a remote and deserted area.
The luxury vehicle was discovered left open, with no immediate signs of struggle at the scene, raising further questions and deepening the mystery surrounding his disappearance.
The vehicle has been identified as a Mercedes GLE.
Days later, the search came to a devastating end when authorities recovered a body believed to be that of Kenneth Toroitich near Lake Elementaita, in the Diatomite area of Gilgil within Nakuru County.
Police sources indicate that preliminary investigations are now focusing on possible business-related disputes that may have preceded the incident.
It has emerged that Kenneth was allegedly involved in a disagreement with another laptop dealer, a deal that reportedly went sour and may have escalated into conflict.
However, investigators have emphasized that all leads are still being examined, and no official conclusion has been reached.
Family members have since called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct a thorough and speedy probe to establish the exact circumstances leading to his death and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
