As the ODM party continues to fight for it’s survival, fresh division grounds among top party moguls have continued to emerge despite assurances that the team is united.
This follows emergence of new reports alleging that Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed, an ODM party powerhouse, has fallen out with the those in the party’s inner quotas.
Recently, the National assembly minority leader skipped key ODM party meetings. First, he skipped the recent three day party conference in Mombasa. This was followed by another absentia in a recent key fundraising event held in his own constituency. The event was led by top ODM officials.
But perhaps what has raised more eyebrows is the mogul’s absentia in ODM’s Kirembe grounds mega rally in Kisumu on June 31st that was led by party chief, Oburu Odinga.
Insiders of the party who spoke to Nation Africa anonymously have attributed this absentia from key party events to a fallout with key party generals.
Allegedly, Junet is unhappy with how the resources of the party are being managed. “His handlers claim he is unhappy with how the party is being managed,” a source claimed.
According to the source, Junet is allegedly of the opinion that the party is being run on impulse with no long term strategic plans. It however remains unclear as to the specific party leaders Junet is unhappy with.
If the the revelations by the insiders is anything to go by, then the ODM party has along way to go on the road of unity. Already, other key members like Millie Odhiambo, Otiende Amollo have been distant from the party.
