A primary school in Nakuru County has been closed indefinitely after a night guard was brutally murdered and his body discovered inside a classroom, sparking shock among parents, learners, and residents.
The tragic incident occurred at Khalsa Comprehensive School, where the guard is believed to have been attacked by unknown assailants on the night of January 7. His lifeless body was discovered early the following morning by a support staff member who had reported to work.
According to school officials, the staff member found the main gate locked and was forced to jump over it before making the horrifying discovery. The guard’s body was found inside a classroom where he usually spent the night. Reports indicated that he had been tied up and had visible injuries on his throat, suggesting a violent attack.
Police officers who visited the scene confirmed that the school office had been broken into, raising suspicions that the attackers may have been involved in a robbery. Investigators are currently examining the scene to determine whether any valuables were stolen and to establish the motive behind the killing.
The deceased’s family has called for a thorough investigation, expressing concerns over suspicious phone calls received shortly before news of his death emerged.
Following the incident, the school management suspended learning activities and sent pupils home to allow police to conduct investigations. Parents have also questioned the institution’s security arrangements, arguing that one guard was insufficient to protect such a large compound.
Authorities have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that efforts to identify and arrest those responsible are underway.
