Prominent lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has issued a bold challenge to former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, daring them to prove their commitment to national unity and the fight against tribalism.

The outspoken advocate made the remarks on social media, directing his message squarely at both leaders.

Ahmednasir stated that if Uhuru and Gachagua are genuinely serious about the welfare of all Kenyans and honest in their calls against tribalism, they must join President William Ruto in Wajir for the June 1st celebrations.

According to Ahmednasir, showing up in Wajir would be a direct acknowledgment that the North Eastern region historically referred to as the Northern Frontier District is a full and equal part of Kenya. For him, the visit would carry symbolic weight beyond politics.

The lawyer has long been a vocal advocate for the North Eastern region, often calling out the marginalization of communities there. His challenge appears rooted in frustration with leaders who speak about national unity while paying little attention to historically neglected regions.

By invoking June 1st, a date tied to national celebrations, Ahmednasir framed the dare as a test of character. The message was clear, showing up in Nairobi or Central Kenya for events is easy. Coming to Wajir is the real statement.

The post quickly gained traction online, sparking debate about the political relationship between Kenya’s leadership and the North Eastern counties.

Whether Uhuru or Gachagua will take up the challenge remains to be seen. But Ahmednasir has made one thing clear, actions, not words, will determine who truly stands for all Kenyans.
