Top digital content creator and musician Diana Marua has candidly opened up about the heavy financial toll and emotional exhaustion she and her husband, Kevin Bahati, are experiencing as they build their new family home.
In her latest YouTube vlog, the lifestyle influencer debunked the assumption that celebrity life is effortless, admitting that the endless expenses of a major construction site have left her pockets completely empty.
The Two-Year Relocation Rule
The ambitious project follows a public dilemma from 2025, when Bahati turned to social media for advice after Diana demanded they vacate their current residence. At the time, Diana argued that their current home had become small, old, and boring for their growing family of five children. She strongly maintained a personal philosophy that a family should not occupy the same house for more than two consecutive years.
Faced with the choice of buying a pre-made mansion or building from scratch, the celebrity couple ultimately broke ground on a custom build—a decision Diana now notes has brought immense pressure.
“I Will Not Lie to You, I Have Nothing”
Reflecting on the rigorous eight-month journey under the sun, Diana detailed the relentless financial demands made by her construction crew (fundis) that constantly drain her daily earnings.
“If there is something that has humbled me for the past eight months, it is construction,” Diana confessed to her viewers. “You work, and the fundis want money. You work, and they need to add cement somewhere. You work, and they need bricks. You work, and they tell you it’s plumbing. They need timber for I do not know which floor.”
The mother of five completely discarded her usual glamorous internet persona to deliver a raw reality check to her followers regarding her current liquid cash flow.
“Construction has humbled us. But you know what? I know it is going to be worth it. Let me not lie to you. I will not sit here and tell you that I have money. I have nothing. I am struggling. I am struggling to look for money. Construction is not easy, but a day at a time. I know one day it is going to be worth it,” she stated.
Despite the obvious strain on their banking accounts, Diana remains optimistic about the long-term payoff, reminding her fans that building a dream home requires patience, resilience, and a willingness to embrace the grind.
