There is deep sadness in Ruai after a tragic hit and run accident claimed the life of 39 year old Miriam Wangare along Kangundo Road at Acacia Estate.

Reports say she was hit by a speeding vehicle that did not stop after the accident. She died at the scene, leaving her family devastated and struggling to understand how such a sudden loss could happen.

What makes the tragedy even more painful is the situation of her young daughter, 7 year old Angel Nyambura, a PP2 pupil at Blessed Generation School in Ruai.

Angel, who is partly physically challenged, has now lost her mother at a very tender age, a loss that has shaken everyone close to the family.

Her husband, Patrick Mwangi, who works as a plumber doing casual jobs, has been left with the heavy burden of planning the burial while still trying to cope with grief.

Friends and well wishers say he had difficulty raising the funeral expenses needed to give his wife a proper send off.

Support was later extended to the family, helping cover key funeral costs including the coffin and transport arrangements. The body will be taken to Ol Kalou for burial on Thursday.

At the same time, there is growing demand for justice. Authorities are being urged to identify the driver responsible for the accident and bring them to account.

Investigators are reportedly reviewing CCTV footage from nearby buildings, which may help shed light on what happened that day.

As the family prepares for the burial, they are holding onto hope that answers will come, even as they face the painful reality of life without Miriam.
