The family of the late Bishop Allan Kiuna and Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna has celebrated a significant academic milestone achieved by their last-born son, Jeremy Kiuna, following his graduation with a master’s degree in finance from a university in Atlanta, Georgia. This achievement follows his earlier graduation from Georgia Military College, where he completed his associate and bachelor’s degrees in business management.
During the celebration, Bishop Kathy Kiuna shared an emotional reflection on her son’s journey, recalling the severe medical challenges he faced from birth. Jeremy was born prematurely at six months’ gestational age after his mother experienced health complications during pregnancy. Following an emergency delivery, he spent four months in the Intensive Care Unit as doctors monitored his condition. At the age of three, he was diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy, a neurological condition that affects movement, posture, and balance, primarily on one side of the body.
According to statements shared by his mother, medical professionals initially expressed severe doubts regarding his survival and long-term life expectancy. Throughout his childhood, Jeremy underwent multiple surgical procedures on his legs to manage the physical effects of cerebral palsy and improve his mobility. Despite these physical trials and a subsequent battle with mental health challenges while studying abroad, his family maintained their support as he pursued his education in the United States.
The acquisition of the postgraduate degree in finance marks the fulfillment of a long-term goal for the 25-year-old, who has previously been recognized by his family for his resilience in overcoming developmental and physical boundaries.
