Kiss 100 FM presenter Mwalimu Rachel has candidly shared her thoughts on marriage and personal fulfilment, revealing that settling down is currently not a major priority in her life.
Speaking during a podcast interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, the radio host addressed the topic after conversation shifted to her longtime co-host DJ Xclusive, who is reportedly preparing for marriage following his recent public engagement.
Rachel, who has worked closely with DJ Xclusive for nearly eight years, appeared completely unbothered about her own relationship status despite watching her colleague take the next step in his personal life.
‘Marriage Is Not a Priority Right Now’
When asked whether she feels any pressure to get married herself, Rachel admitted that marriage is not something she constantly thinks about.
“I don’t really stay up at night stressing about marriage because it’s honestly not a priority for me right now,” she said.
The media personality explained that she strongly believes life unfolds in seasons and that marriage will happen naturally when the timing is right.
“I’m not saying this because I don’t respect marriage. I absolutely do. I just believe God’s plan works itself out at the right time. I’ve always believed people go through different seasons in life, and when that season comes, it will happen,” she explained.
‘My Life Already Feels Full’
Rachel also made it clear that she does not view marriage as something necessary to complete her life.
According to the presenter, she currently feels fulfilled and content with where she is personally and professionally.
“I don’t feel like there’s something missing in my life. There’s no vacuum that needs to be filled by a husband,” she added.
The radio star further revealed that any future partner would need to bring genuine value into her life, noting that she already takes care of herself independently.
She said she values qualities such as discipline, character, and maturity in a partner, adding that she already pampers herself and therefore expects meaningful contribution from anyone she dates.
Busy Life Outside Radio
Away from the microphone, Rachel leads a packed lifestyle balancing motherhood, career, and personal interests.
She is a mother to a teenage son and previously revealed that she maintains a co-parenting arrangement that she says works well for her family.
Outside work, the presenter spends time golfing, travelling with friends, and hosting her women-focused “Book Club Brunch” events.
Her Long Partnership With DJ Xclusive
Rachel and DJ Xclusive have become one of Kenya’s most recognised radio duos over the years.
The pair previously worked together for five years at another station before moving to Kiss 100 FM, where they have now spent an additional three years together.
At one point during the interview, Rachel jokingly described their long-running professional partnership as “the marriage I never wanted.”
Despite the joke, she praised the strong chemistry and loyalty they have maintained while working together over the years.
