Kenyan Woman From Uasin Gishu Feared Dead After Car Plunges Into River in Canada

 

A cloud of sadness has covered families and friends in Uasin Gishu County after a Kenyan woman reportedly lost her life in a tragic road accident in Canada.

According to reports shared online by Alfred Koech-Sergeant, the young woman was driving with her friend near the North Thompson River in North Kamloops, Canada, when their car suddenly lost control and plunged into the water.

The heartbreaking incident happened on Sunday evening. Information seen in the attached reports shows that emergency teams received a distress call shortly after 6 p.m. after the vehicle left the road and landed in the river.

Witnesses who rushed to the scene tried their best to help the victims. One brave passerby reportedly jumped into the fast-moving water in an attempt to rescue those trapped inside the vehicle. Sadly, the strong river current quickly swept the car downstream.

Reports indicate that one of the women managed to survive after being rescued and taken to hospital for treatment. However, the Kenyan woman from Uasin Gishu is believed to have gone down with the car and drowned.

The tragedy has deeply shocked Kenyans both at home and abroad, with many taking to social media to send messages of comfort and prayers to the grieving family.

Authorities in Canada, including emergency response and rescue teams, have continued searching for the missing woman. Today marks the third day since the accident happened, and search operations are still ongoing along the river as rescuers work tirelessly to locate her body.
