TikTok has released its Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, revealing that the platform took down over 820,000 videos in Kenya between October and December 2025 as part of an aggressive push to improve online safety and curb harmful content.
The report, published on Tuesday in Nairobi, notes that the platform removed exactly 820,552 Kenyan videos for violating its rules during the final quarter of the year, highlighting the massive scale of its current moderation efforts.

According to the tech giant, automated systems and moderators proactively detected and scrubbed 99.9% of the flagged videos before users could even report them. Additionally, the platform wiped 98.4% of the offending content within 24 hours of upload.

Alongside the video removals, TikTok banned 108,752 Kenyan accounts for policy breaches during the same three-month window, linking a large share of those terminations to suspected underage users.

Out of those banned profiles, the platform identified 93,704 accounts belonging to users under the age of 13, directly violating its minimum age requirement for account ownership.

The company framed the mass enforcement as part of its ongoing commitment to protect younger users online and secure a safer digital space for its expanding community both in Kenya and globally.

“TikTok continues to enforce its Community Guidelines consistently and at scale, addressing harmful content such as misinformation, hate speech, and other policy violations,” the company said in part in the report.

On a global scale, TikTok wiped out 175,302,085 videos during the quarter, a figure that accounts for roughly 0.5% of all content uploaded to the platform during those three months.

Automated moderation technologies, powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning processes, flagged and scrubbed 152,580,933 of those worldwide removals. However, the company also reinstated 8,360,780 videos globally after secondary reviews, overturning initial takedown decisions upon closer reassessment.

Global Performance Metrics

The platform’s automated and manual systems maintained high efficiency throughout the quarter, as detailed in the performance breakdown below:

Metric Global Rate
Proactive Removal Rate 99.1%
Takedowns within 24 Hours 93.4%

TikTok rolled out several operational upgrades throughout 2025 to bolster transparency. These updates included publishing detailed data on TikTok LIVE monetization enforcement, pulling back the curtain on comment removals, and upgrading its disclosure reports regarding advertising moderation and intellectual property enforcement on TikTok Shop.
