The latest selections, announced by the Library of Congress, highlight recordings that have had a lasting impact on the nation’s audio heritage. Among the newly inducted works is Taylor Swift’s massively successful 2014 pop album 1989, which marked a major turning point in her career as she transitioned from country to mainstream pop superstardom.
Beyoncé’s iconic 2008 hit Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) also joins the registry. The track became a global phenomenon, praised for its infectious energy, cultural influence, and unforgettable choreography that continues to be referenced in pop culture today.
