For some men, old underwear becomes surprisingly comfortable over time. After years of washing and wearing, the fabric feels softer and more familiar than brand-new pairs. Even when the waistband becomes loose or a small tear appears, they continue wearing it because it still feels comfortable enough. Some even develop a strange attachment to their favorite old pairs because they are used to them.

Money priorities also play a part. Many men prefer spending on things that can be seen by others. A new pair of sneakers, a stylish shirt, or a good phone feels more important than underwear hidden beneath clothes. Since underwear is private, replacing it may not feel urgent, especially when there are other bills and responsibilities demanding attention.

Busy lifestyles make the habit even more common. A man may notice worn-out underwear while dressing up and promise himself he will buy new ones later. However, after a long day of work, school, or other responsibilities, he forgets completely. The same thing happens again and again until the underwear becomes badly worn out.

Some men were also raised in homes where people used clothing for as long as possible. Throwing away something that still “works” may feel wasteful to them. They believe there is no need to replace underwear unless it is completely unusable.

At the same time, many men simply do not pay much attention to small personal items. They focus more on bigger responsibilities and daily survival. Underwear becomes one of those things they only remember when doing laundry or packing clothes.

Although it may sound funny, underwear says a lot about personal care and self-respect. Wearing clean and comfortable innerwear improves confidence, hygiene, and comfort throughout the day. Replacing old pairs regularly may seem like a small thing, but it reflects good habits and proper self-care.
