Beloved Ugandan Catholic choir trainer, composer, and singer John Bosco Kazoora, popularly known as JB Kazoora, has died just days after celebrating his wedding, leaving his family and the Catholic community in shock and mourning.
The 77-year-old veteran musician passed away on May 4, 2026, only a week after tying the knot with his wife on April 25, 2026. His sudden death has been described as deeply tragic, especially among members of the Mbarara Archdiocese where he served for decades.
Reports indicate that JB Kazoora succumbed to complications related to diabetes. His passing came after years of dedicated service in church music, where he composed and trained numerous choirs, shaping Catholic worship in western Uganda.
Family members remember him as a pillar of faith, discipline, and musical excellence. His daughter, Nyamwija Risella, paid an emotional tribute, describing him as her hero, best friend, and greatest inspiration in life.
She expressed heartbreak, saying she had lost her strongest support system and a man who guided her through life’s challenges.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at Nyamitanga Cathedral on May 7 to honour his life, celebrating his legacy as a gifted composer whose songs touched generations of worshippers.
