Ruto in Burundi

President William Ruto was almost hit on Tuesday after a bottle was thrown in his direction during a rally in Soweto, Lang’ata, Nairobi.

The President, who was on a tour of Kibra and Lang’ata, had been interacting with residents alongside leaders from UDA and ODM when the incident occurred.

A bottle was seen flying past him, nearly hitting him before landing just in front of where he was heading.

Despite the tense moment, Ruto remained calm and continued engaging with the crowd, shaking hands with supporters.

Security officers were visibly overwhelmed as they struggled to control the surging crowd, with police making several attempts to push back residents who were trying to get closer to the President.

The President was in the area to inspect development projects and address roadside rallies, where he also reaffirmed the UDA-ODM pre-election cooperation despite opposition from factions such as Linda Mwananchi.

President’s security team appeared strained as they worked to manage the large crowds and prevent disruptions during the visit.
