Detectives have made a major breakthrough after arresting a police officer who allegedly robbed and shot a man in Nairobi’s Embakasi area.
The incident occurred in the early hours of April 6, 2026, in the Wimasi area within Pipeline Estate.Reports indicate that the victim was returning home around 12:30 a.m. when he was confronted by three men he knew.
The suspects reportedly attempted to snatch his mobile phone, and when he resisted, one of them shot him twice in the right shoulder.
The attackers then fled with a Tecno Spark Slim phone.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, treated for his injuries, and discharged in stable condition.
Following the attack, police launched an intelligence-led operation.Acting on information from the victim and the public, detectives arrested a constable serving at Reuben Police Station under Nairobi Region Headquarters.
The officer is now in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities described the case as isolated and assured the public that justice will be pursued.
They emphasised that systems are in place to handle incidents involving officers implicated in criminal activity, reinforcing accountability and public trust.
