KOT have faulted the eyewitness account given by a Kitui man regarding the eventual capture of the htree Kamiti prison escapees.
Paul Mwaniki, is the man who led the capture of the 3 Kamiti prison escapees in Kitui.
He revealed to Citizen Tv how he spotted them and came to the conclusion they were the most sought after prisoners.
Paul Mulati said the three were spotted at Endau Malalani ward.
He said they walked closer to the bushes signaling they are strangers.
Paul also said they didn’t know the mode of transport used in Kitui.

“Walikuwa na ujanja ingine kwa sababu walikuwa wanaenda zig zag…mara wanavuka barabara wanaenda pande hii…wanatembea kwa msitu, wakiona hiyo msitu imeshikana sana wanaruka tena wanaenda pande hiyo ingine ya barabara,” he said.
“Wanatembea kando ya msitu lakini hawaachi barabara mbali ndio wasipotee…hawajui, ni wageni…hawa watu wamejulikana wakati wameingia Endau Malalani ward, sasa hatujui walifika aje Endau…hatujui walibebwa na gari ama walikuja namna gani.”
“Sisi kama wananchi wazalendo wa nchi ya Kenya, tumefanya juu chini mpaka tukawakamata, hatukuwa tunaogopa…ile kitu tulikuwa tunaogopa zaidi ni vita kutoka nje, si hao, kwa sababu wakati walitoroka tuliona hawana silaha,” he stated.
