Moses Mudavadi, the eldest son of Musalia Mudavadi, has reportedly begun preparations for a bid to represent Westlands in Parliament in the 2027 general election. According to information circulating in political circles, the move marks his first major step into elective politics.
Mudavadi’s entry into the race has already attracted public commentary from political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi, who has expressed support for the potential candidate. Ngunyi reportedly praised Moses Mudavadi’s conduct during the Dusit D2 terror attack in 2019, describing it as an example of bravery. The attack, which occurred at a hotel and office complex in Nairobi, drew national attention at the time and involved multiple rescue and security efforts.
According to reports, the younger Mudavadi has begun engaging with residents and local networks as part of early political mobilization. However, details about his official campaign structure and policy platform have not been publicly outlined. His political party affiliation also remains unclear, and it is not yet known whether he will align himself with any established party ahead of the 2027 polls.
If he formally enters the race, Moses Mudavadi could face competition from several prominent figures. Among those mentioned in political discussions is former Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi, who has also been associated with political ambitions in the constituency.
Observers say the Westlands parliamentary seat is likely to attract significant interest as the election approaches. Analysts note that early declarations and endorsements can shape public perception, although the political landscape may shift considerably before the 2027 election cycle officially begins.
