Gospel singer Mary Atieno recently shared a tough time in her life when she had trouble paying rent, even though she was well-known in gospel music.

During a church service, the singer of the song Adamu na Eva talked about how hard things were for her and her daughter a few years back.

QAtieno mentioned that many people didn’t realize the private struggles she was going through while working in ministry. Some people even told her she’d never be financially secure.

She said those comments were hurtful, but she chose to ignore them and trust in her faith.

Atieno remembered that in 2020, she went through a difficult change that left her and her daughter without a home and not enough money to find one. She said the deposit for the house they wanted was KSh 26,000, which she couldn’t afford back then.

She explained that they didn’t know where they would end up staying. Even though she was working hard and continuing with her ministry and studies, she felt like things were too much to handle.

The singer said that during that low point, help came from someone unexpected. A young man named Larry looked for her while she was at school. Atieno said she didn’t know him then, but his visit changed everything for her.

She called Larry someone who was meant to help her and who showed up when she needed it most. Atieno said he helped her get through that tough time and later promised to build her a house.

While sharing her story, the gospel singer was very thankful and prayed for Larry to be blessed for his kindness.

Her story touched many people in the church, and she used the moment to encourage others who might be quietly struggling. Atieno said her experience taught her that faith and patience can help anyone get through difficult times.

Now, she looks back on those times with gratitude, believing that her work for God was worth it.
