Ichungwa

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah stepped back into his school days when he wore the famous Alliance High School uniform to welcome President William Ruto during the institution’s 100th anniversary celebrations.

The grand event was held at the historic Alliance High School in Kikuyu. Alumni, students, leaders, and guests gathered to mark a century since the school was founded in 1926. The atmosphere was lively as old boys reunited and shared memories.

Alliance High School is known as one of Kenya’s top national schools. For decades it has produced respected leaders, scholars, and professionals who have shaped the country’s story. Its motto “Strong to Serve” continues to guide generations of students.

Ichung’wah, who studied at the school, wore the olive green sweater, white shirt, maroon tie, and grey trousers that form the official uniform. He stood proudly among students and fellow alumni as he received President William Ruto at the school grounds.

Photos and videos shared online showed the Majority Leader smiling and shaking hands with the President. Many students cheered as the presidential convoy drove through the entrance decorated with school banners.

Ichung’wah has in the past expressed support for improving the school but noted that as a national institution it requires broader support beyond constituency funding. His decision to wear the uniform symbolized gratitude and loyalty to his alma mater.

As the ceremony continued with speeches, performances, and exhibitions of historical items, the centenary became more than a celebration. It stood as a reminder of Alliance High School’s deep roots and its lasting role in shaping Kenya’s future leaders.
