We are always told to steer clear of people who exhibit red flags. When you are dating someone new, the romance and excitement of the ‘honeymoon phase’ can blind you to ignoring the warning signs.
What are the red flags that we should be looking out for in a relationship?
Controlling an overly jealous partner
A partner who is overly jealous may become controlling. A partner who does not want you to have a social life outside your relationship is controlling and that relationship is as good as doomed.
Frequent liar
Constantly catching your partner being dishonest is not a good sign. Being lied to over and over can make it difficult to build a solid foundation hence leading to a shaky future. We are all guilty of white lies here and there, but when your partner consistently lies, that is a red flag, run bro!

Constant put-downs
A partner constantly criticizing and putting you down even in a subtle or passive-aggressive way can affect your self-esteem. You definitely want a partner who makes you feel like you are the best version of yourself. If he or she bruises your esteem, you need out immediately!
An unwillingness to compromise
A partner who’s not willing to compromise even in the little things is a red flag, sis, and you should proceed with caution. A partner making everything one-sided is selfish, compromise is not his love language, run!
When you see red flags in a relationship, take note of them. Take the situation seriously and how it might affect your relationship in the future and how it may affect you as an individual.
