The Kenya Revenue Authority is on the look out for Kenyans who are posting their lavish lifestyles on social media platforms that does not match their taxes.
Commissioner Githii Mburu now says they will check if your lifestyle on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snapchat and even Twitter matches your taxes.
“In the social media, we have some people posting some nice things. You would see some posting nice shoes, nice houses, cars taking their families to nice places. Here we are not sleeping, when we see those, we see taxes,” he said.
This declaration has attracted hilarious reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, who are planning ways to dupe the tax man into believing that they are broke.
A number of them have revealed that they take several pictures in one occasion and keep posting them the whole year.
