Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has shared an honest and humorous story about an awkward moment that has stayed with him since a recent concert at Nyayo Stadium.
Speaking on Sunday, December 21, 2025, Salasya revealed that he met a woman he admired during the Asake concert but failed to ask for her phone number.
He admitted the moment slipped away, leaving him full of regret.
“I took a photo with this beautiful girl at the Asake event at Nyayo Stadium, but I failed the gods of Wanga land. I did not ask for her number,” Salasya said.
The lawmaker confessed that the missed opportunity has been on his mind since the show ended.
In a light-hearted appeal, he asked Kenyans to help him trace the woman.
“Mkenya mwenye anamjua amusalamie aki muvua hunyesheya wasiokuwa wakulimaji,” he wrote, openly expressing his disappointment.
Salasya admitted that fear and overthinking held him back at the crucial moment. He said asking for a number has always been a personal struggle.
“Hii uoga ya kuuliza number nitatoa lini kwa akili yangu,” he said.
He went on to explain that the fear of rejection often stops him from making the first move.
“The first impression huwa nikiuliza namba atanitusi ama akikataa nitasema nini,” Salasya added, noting that embarrassment can cost people real chances in life.
He described the experience as a painful lesson learned too late.
Beyond the personal confession, Salasya linked the moment to his love for music and public entertainment.
He has previously promised to support free concerts if elected president, arguing that music should be enjoyed by everyone.
According to the MP, the high demand for tickets at major Nairobi concerts inspired his vision.
“Entertainment should bring people together, not lock them out because of money,” he has said in past remarks.
Salasya pointed to the Nyayo Stadium concert, headlined by Nigerian star Asake and UK-based singer Gabzy, as an example of how powerful music events can be.
The show sold out and drew thousands, becoming one of Nairobi’s biggest concerts this year.
