Media personality Jacque Maribe on Saturday took to Instagram to once again comment on the recent saga with comedian Eric Omondi that almost went south.
Noting that it was the last time she was commenting on the matter, the former Citizen TV news anchor said she wants to be left alone.
She asked Kenyans to give her some space and respect the fact that there is a child involved.
“This is the last statement I’ll make about this never-ending story. I want to be left alone. We overreacted. We might have been overwhelmed.
“Each of us will own our truths. There’s a child involved so let’s respect him. I can’t do this anymore. Tuwache tu,” she wrote.
This comes just a day after she hinted that she would be taking some time off social media and focus on being happy.
It all started when Maribe seemingly attacked Omondi and accused him of being a deadbeat dad, something that rubbed the Wife Material creator the wrong way.
He then went on a rant on social media, claiming that for seven years he has been asking Maribe for a DNA test to determine the paternity of the child in question.
Omondi claimed that throughout Jacque’s pregnancy, they barely saw each other and later reconnected a few months after the baby was born.
“She then tells me “It doesn’t matter the mother always knows who the father is and that I am the father!!! During the entire pregnancy nothing happened and we barely saw each other. Roughly 4 months after the baby was born Jacque called me and asked me if I would help or be part of the baby’s life. I asked her for a DNA test so that I could comfortably be part of the baby’s life and SUPPORT fully. She got very offended and refused my request,” he added.
However, in a bid to set the record straight after getting a bashing online, Omondi said that he would take care of the child regardless of the DNA outcome.

“I want the DNA test but Jackie does not want it. For seven years, we have had a push and pull over the DNA test. Let’s not get the child involved…. I will take care of the child regardless of the outcome,” he added.

In yet another twist in the saga, Maribe and Omondi seemed to have buried the hatchet on Thursday after they were reconciled by Bonfire adventures CEO Simon Kabu, who acted as a mediator.

In the video, Omondi admitted that Kabu played a crucial role in helping them resolve their differences and they agreed to put the child’s needs first.
“We are here because of Simon Kabu. Jacque was hot, I was also hot. We were both furious but Simon summoned us. And we have mutually agreed that what happened is now bygone,” said Omondi.
Kabu went on to encourage the two to always find an amicable way of solving their issues instead of airing their dirty linen in public.
“We will be there not necessarily to check but to guide. We have seen far much worse situations than this one because fact is people differ. We will not crucify you because of that, we will say that things happen but how you sort them determines how mature you are,” said Kabu.
