The grief around the late gospel singer Betty Bayo’s family is still painfully fresh, and another emotional moment unfolded as her husband Hiram “Tash” Gitau and their children Sky and Danny escorted a close relative back to the United States.
In a touching video shared by Sky on TikTok, the family was seen at JKIA, embracing one last moment with Aunt Msoo, who had travelled to Kenya to stand with them during Bayo’s burial on November 10. The clip captured a mixture of laughter, tight hugs, and heavy silences—the kind that only families navigating fresh loss truly understand.
Despite the storm of allegations currently being raised by Bayo’s brother Edward—including claims about Tash’s role in the late singer’s life—the father of two appeared calm and fully focused on his children. In the video, he is seen chatting softly with them as they prepared to escort their aunt to the departure terminal.
Sky, who has taken on a noticeably protective big-sister role, narrated how difficult it was to let go of someone who had offered them comfort through their darkest weeks. “It’s so empty without you,” she said, holding back emotion as the family shared their final group hug.
Young Danny clung to his aunt for a few extra seconds, a moment that melted hearts online. Sky also hinted she might soon travel to the US, promising her aunt that they would meet again “very soon.”
Online, supporters of the family rallied behind Tash and the children, praising their resilience and the warmth shared in the video.
Betty Bayo, who succumbed to leukaemia while receiving treatment, left behind a family still navigating grief, unanswered questions, and public scrutiny. But in that quiet airport moment—far from the noise—their bond spoke louder than any rumours.
