Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has strongly condemned young men who sexually harass girls while filming the acts for social media content.

This comes after several disturbing videos surfaced online showing boys surrounding girls, abusing them, and recording the incidents while laughing.

In a post on X on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Passaris said she was shocked by what she saw.

“I have come across several videos of young men sexually harassing girls in the name of content. It is shocking that such acts are being viewed as entertainment,” she wrote.

Passaris described the scenes in the videos as both traumatic and heartbreaking. She questioned how a girl could defend herself when surrounded by a crowd of boys who watch and encourage the abuse.

“I cannot imagine the trauma a girl goes through in such an ordeal, surrounded by boys who, instead of protecting her dignity, stand aside and treat this as entertainment. What happens if she tries to defend herself?” she asked.

The lawmaker called for urgent action to protect girls from harassment, especially online. She urged parents, teachers, and authorities to educate young men about the consequences of sexual abuse.

She also appealed to social media platforms to monitor content closely and remove videos that promote or normalize harassment.

This trend has raised serious concerns about the safety of girls and the responsibility of content creators.

Passaris’s statement highlights the need for stronger measures to stop harassment and protect children and teenagers both online and in real life.
