Pastor Victor Kanyari, ex-husband of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo, shared a heartfelt video on Friday showing intimate moments with his daughter as the two exchanged laughter and warm embraces. The clip, which also captured a playful interaction with his young son, highlighted the strong bond he continues to nurture with his children, Sky Victor and Danny.

The video surfaced amid growing speculation and statements from individuals claiming they are capable of taking care of the children following Betty Bayo’s death. Kanyari expressed frustration over the comments, questioning why anyone would seek custody while he remains present, active, and responsible. He emphasized that he has always prioritised his children’s welfare and remains fully committed to their upbringing. He reaffirmed that their stability and happiness have always been central to his efforts.

In his remarks, Kanyari also acknowledged Betty Bayo’s husband, Tash, noting that he has every right to be part of the children’s lives. His statement appeared aimed at quelling tension and reinforcing cooperative co-parenting during a difficult period for the families involved.

Details from the family briefing revealed that Betty had been ill for about a week prior to her passing. She was first admitted to AAR Hospital on Kiambu Road before being transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she succumbed to leukaemia following excessive bleeding. Kanyari stated that he had not been aware of her illness until her final days.

The emotional video has drawn widespread sympathy online as Kenyans continue to mourn Betty’s death and express support for the children and the families navigating the loss.
