The Sigalagala National Polytechnic community has been thrown into mourning following the tragic deaths of two of its students just days before the start of the November KNEC exams.
The deceased have been identified as Marion Omondi Auma (Admission No. DAGEL/0099/24M) and Martin Omondi Oduor (Admission No. DHRIT/0063/24S).
In a statement, the institution expressed deep sorrow, describing the loss as a heavy blow to both staff and students.
“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our fellow students. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, and classmates during this difficult time,” read part of the condolence message.
The tragedy comes at a difficult moment for the polytechnic, as students are currently preparing for the KNEC November examination series. The administration has since urged students to remain strong and has promised emotional support to those affected.
Messages of sympathy and condolences have flooded social media, with many describing Marion and Martin as bright, humble, and ambitious students whose dreams were cut short too soon.
