Gordon Opiyo has aligned Kalonzo Musyoka’s visit to Raila’s family with politics.
He claims that Kalonzo’s visit to Bondo won’t make Luo community follow him .
“Kalonzo is a complete joker. After agreeing to give Gachagua 50% of all State appointments, including Cabinet, PS, Parastatals, Police and Military chiefs, Board and Ambassadors including the Finance CS, Energy CS and Interior PS positions currently held by our sons, he comes to Bondo with a few emaciated cows shouting “njowi, njowi” and thinks that we Luo’s will suddenly follow him?
Come on! It is not going to happen. Anybody backed by Mr Shares cannot sell in Luo Nyanza.”
A netizen commented “Kalonzo is a good man. He supported Raila Odinga when you were calling him names. He’s the only genuine person mourning him.”
Another one added “I see the same tone as before—you consistently wrote negatively about Raila, so this post doesn’t come as a surprise.”
Another one lamented “Kalonzo delivered 100 cows to Raila’s home in Bondo as a sign of their strong and genuine friendship. The former VP sacrificed his presidential ambition for 15 years to support Raila. Even during last general election, he let Karua be the DP and supported them fully. Kalonzo is a selfless politician who has stood firm, he is also not corrupt.”
It was also speculated “As it stands and if he positions himself well, nyanza will support him fully in 2027. But the main issue is Gachagua who behaves as if he owns everyone in opposition and he wants to ring fence it. Most Luos are afraid to be aligned to opposition because of Gachagua. If he tones down his divisive politics, Kalonzo will easily win in 2027. Even Matiangi and other opposition figures are ready to support him without conditions.”
