TikTok personality and Embu mother, Mama Gift Gathoge, has firmly denied claims that she returned to the platform to seek more donations following her son’s widely publicized fundraiser. In an emotional video shared on Thursday, October 30, 2025, she expressed disappointment over false accusations that painted her as ungrateful and greedy.
Mama Gift, who recently received overwhelming support from Kenyans during a fundraiser for her ailing son, said she has not conducted any live sessions to request more money. She clarified that those spreading the rumours were misrepresenting her words and intentions.
The content creator emphasized that she has always been thankful to everyone who contributed to Baby Gift’s medical fund. She pleaded with critics to stop fabricating stories about her, insisting that her focus remains on her son’s recovery.
“Please stop spreading false things. Anyone who sent even ten shillings to support Baby Gift, I was and still am very thankful,” she said during the video. Her remarks came amid growing online chatter accusing her of exploiting public sympathy.
Mama Gift urged the public to direct their attention toward Baby Gift’s health instead of fueling unnecessary drama. She explained that her son continues to battle cerebral palsy, asthma, and cardiovascular complications, which require constant medical attention.
The embattled mother reminded her followers that giving is a voluntary act and should not be turned into a weapon of criticism. She said she has deep respect for her supporters, noting that their generosity has sustained her through difficult times.
Her response follows a recent fundraiser at Embu’s Njukiri Showground, where hundreds of TikTokers and well-wishers came together to support her. The event drew notable contributors, including forex trader Raymond Omosa, popularly known as Kenyan Prince, who donated Ksh100,000.
