During a church service held two days later, the preacher told his congregation that he had been scheduled to travel from Mombasa to Nairobi using the same aircraft involved in the accident.
He said he decided not to board after receiving what he described as a divine warning urging him and his wife to cancel their flight plans. Instead, the couple opted to take a train to Nairobi.
His statement quickly spread on social media, sparking anger and disbelief among Kenyans who accused him of exploiting the tragedy for attention. Many questioned the timing of his revelation, saying it appeared insensitive to the grieving families of the crash victims.
